A video on TikTok of a 5th grade music teacher teaching her class about meter takes a heavy metal turn when one of her student’s suggests she give an example using a song from his favorite band Slipknot. Without missing a beat Risha Allen who goes by @rishdishfish on Tiktok busts into Slipknot’s Wait and Bleed while showing the class how to keep time with a hand drum.
“This kiddo was kind of aggravated by the previous Eminem example and wanted to express his own musical preference,” Allen wrote in the caption. “He hadn’t really engaged with me or liked music class up until this point, so I felt like relating to and respecting his music (very personal) would help me connect with him.”

And finally, while Drum prodigy Nandi Bushell posted a video last week of her absolutely crushing it to Rush’s Tom Sawyer another young person is on the internet showing some mad skills: the son of Anthrax’s Scott Ian!
Ian and his son, Revel, took to dad’s Instagram account to show off his skills as they played Sepultura’s Territory after having covered Roots Bloody Roots previously. No word on when Revel will be going on tour with his dad but if you can already play this song before your even in high school you’ve got some serious chops!
