Check out the latest playlist for Sunday nights edition of Motor City Riffs. Listen to all the Michigan made bands and artists who let us play their music!

That’s right, Motor City Riffs is officially back on WRIF. Every Sunday, from 9-10pm hosts Cort Freeman and Nate Franklin will showcase some of the best local bands coming out of Michigan, and the greater metro-Detroit area.

This week, we featured bands from Canton to Battle Creek, and even went international with a band from Ontario, because I still count them as part of our general area. Whenever I hear Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ I have to always point out to who ever is around that there is no “South Detroit.” It’s just Windsor. So, I feel a strong connection with our Canadian brothers and sisters.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
