Happy 58th birthday to the legendary Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder! To celebrate, here are my top 5 Eddie songs from Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder is currently doing a solo stint away from the band but promises some surprises for Pearl Jam in 2023.

  • Pearl Jam - Why Go

When the CD, “TEN ” came out in 1991, it changed the landscape of music. Hairspray bands were on the way out and grunge was the new sound. This song got me going in my car. How could you not speed to this song?

  • Pearl Jam - Corduroy

Eddie is a master at changing his lyrics constantly at gigs. It is so brilliant how to change 1 or 2 words, the lines get a new intention. Just brilliant stuff! Great album to listen to from start to finish. Eddie was on a roll and took advantage of it in every way.

  • Pearl Jam - "GO"

Vs. was the second studio album Pearl Jam, released October 19, 1993  After a relentless touring schedule in support of their 1991 debut album Ten, Pearl Jam headed into the studio in early 1993 facing the challenge of following up the commercial success of its debut album, “TEN.”  This song got the band a Grammy for, “Best Hard Rock Performance.” Funny, another song I like that includes the word, “GO.”

  • Pearl Jam - Even Flow

“Even Flow,” was the 2nd single released from the album Ten and one of the band’s best songs to see live in concert. One of the more successful songs from the Pearl Jam catalog.

  • Pearl Jam - State of Love and Trust

I love this particular song as it was in a great movie, Singles. “State of Love and Trust” is such a raw strip-down great song. Eddies vocals are just ripping on this song and the band is right along with him. The most underrated Pearl Jam song ever! I miss Dave Abruzesse on drums for Pearl Jam so much! He was the best drummer for their sound.
