  • The Missing Member from Mercyful Fate’s Reunion

Danish metal band Mercyful Fate are in the middle of a reunion tour, playing their first live shows in 23 years, but one notable absence from the tour is original guitarist Micheal Denner, who told Chaoszine that he wasn’t even informed they were getting back together. “I’m not part of it, because they didn’t tell me; they didn’t invite me. We didn’t even have a discussion about it,” said Denner, who had kind words for current guitarist Mike Wead, saying that they were still close friends. When asked about playing again with guitarist Hank Sherman, however, Denner said, “Not in a million years, because I could never trust this guy again.”

  • Parkway Drive, Amon Amarth, The Hu New Music Announcements

Parkway Drive have locked down September 9th as the release of their seventh studio album, ‘Darker Still’.

Amon Amarth released the title track from the upcoming ‘Great Heathen Army’ record, due out August 5th. In the video a pair of boys experience ‘Amon Amarth’, the tabletop game, which, if they’re smart, is already in the works for fans.

The Hu will release ‘Rumble of Thunder’ on September 2nd, meaning they’ll be playing us some new songs October 5th when they come to Pine Knob with Five Finger Death Punch and Megadeth.

  • Kid from AGT Records Her Own Metal Song

Last month, a 10-year-old from the UK, named Harper, stole the show on an episode of ‘America’s Got Talent, doing a cover of Spiritbox’s “Holy Roller”. She quickly got the chance to join the band on stage at a live performance and now Harper has signed with Pale Chord in conjunction with Rise Records and released her first single “Falling”. The song was written with the help of Shadow of Intent’s Chris Wiseman and Acres’ Ben Lumber and is honestly pretty genre faithful. It’ll be interesting to see what she continues to come up with as she gets older.
