I still remember in Jr. high school, my friend Brian introduced me to a new band. He said, you have got to hear these guys. They are the best. In 1975, we were hooked on Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Nazareth, Aerosmith, and hometown boys Grand Funk Railroad. My friend introduced me to KISS. I was hooked pretty fast- even sent in my $5 and became a member of the KISS Army. Many memories of live shows at Cobo, Olympia, and the show of shows in 1996 at Tiger Stadium.

Can you imagine a private party and KISS was playing? Sure, if I win the Powerball it might happen. Recently, KISS played a small club private party in Texas for 100 people. I’m surprised how news of this hasn’t gone viral on the Internet. Guess when you are filthy rich you can book a KISS concert. Looks like big Tabaco giant Philip Morris paid for everything, allegedly. The set had 15 classic KISS tunes beginning with “Detroit Rock City” and ending the night with “Rock and Roll All Night.” How cool would that have been to be one of the 100 lucky fans to see a special show for the ages? I did hear a rumor this is the last tour- maybe you heard the same rumor.

Kiss played a private party for less than 100 people at the weekend and there's video

(Image credit: Videopress) Video has surfaced of Kiss playing a full show at a small club in Texas at the weekend. The gig, reportedly a private corporate event hosted by tobacco giant Philip Morris International, was held at the Vulcan Gas Company, a small club in downtown Austin, and apparently attended by less than 100 people.

5 Cheesy Rock Music Videos

Today (September 5) is “National Cheese Pizza Day.” While you could (and should) celebrate by actually eating cheese pizza, you should also check out this list of cheesy rock music videos.

  • KISS – 'Let’s Put The X In Sex'

You can’t really throw all of KISS under the bus for this clip. Paul Stanley is definitely the main offender here. From his dancing, to bending that one woman over multiple times and the constant effort to show off his nipples, this video puts the X in NEXT!

  • Poison – 'Fallen Angel'

Oh…this classic narrative:  Small town kid moves to L.A. only to end up slutting it up and getting involved with a sleezy…casting agent? Not quite sure of that guy’s role in this video, but that kick to the groin he takes from the “Fallen Angel” was weak. Thankfully, Bret Michaels is there to whisk her away from this madness.

  • Judas Priest – 'Breaking The Law'

A classic example of when bad music videos happen to great songs. You have to remember MTV was still a relatively new thing when this video dropped. Also, most would strongly advise against trying to rob a bank by entering it and singing, “Breaking The Law! Breaking The Law!” (Actually, most would also strongly advise against robbing banks, period.)

  • Guns N’ Roses – 'Estranged'

Production and budget-wise, this video doesn’t qualify as “cheesy,” but who can really handle Axl Rose swimming with dolphins and Slash rising from the ocean (or lake or soundstage aquarium tank) to play a solo?

  • David Lee Roth – 'Just A Gigolo'

God bless DLR, but this is just too much. Whoever came up with this video’s treatment was crazy from more than just the heat.
