  • A Pair of Follow-Up Stories

John 5 has officially been tapped to replace Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars for the band’s 2023 tour plans, as Mars has chosen to retire from the band, due to challenges with his health.

Ivan Moody, who announced just weeks ago that he was retiring after the next Five Finger Death Punch record, has changed his mind. “I really sat back the last few days and took it all in. And I first off want to apologize because music’s all I’ve got,” Moody said in an announcement video online. “My bandmates deserve better. I ain’t going anywhere. Maybe I was a little bit impulsive…I hope you all will forgive me.”

  • Why King Diamond Had to Change His Singing Technique

In a recent interview with Metal Injection, King Diamond talked about how heart surgeries forced him to change his singing and led to a scary moment at a Volbeat show.

“About five months after the surgery I had discovered that the metal rods had not completely fused with my rib cage to hold it together and it started shaking inside my chest. I thought I was dying,” said Diamond, who found that a year later the rods had fused properly to a point where he could join Metallica on stage for one of their 30th anniversary shows. On the plus side, Diamond said post-surgery he has a greater lung capacity which forced him to change his technique on the spot.

  • Bruce Dickinson Addresses Marijuana Use

Video of Iron Maiden’s September 21st show in Anaheim, California surfaced last week where lead singer Bruce Dickinson makes his stance on marijuana use quite clear.

“Poor old Steve. I don’t know if you know, but he absolutely hates marijuana and the smell of it, alright? So, when he’s trying to play bass, it f—s him up. It f—s me up,” Dickinson said, referring to bass player Steve Harris. “If you want to go get completely stoned out of your mind, go out the back and do it. Alright?” Meanwhile, the next night at that same venue Dickinson ended up dragging a fan off stage who made it past security so it sounds like he’s having a great tour experience.

  • New Products from Type O Negative and Cannibal Corpse

Type O Negative has teamed up with Whole Organix for a new line of CBD oils, the first of which is available online for preorder and called Blackberry No. 1. It’s limited to 1000 pieces with a certificate of authenticity so you’ll want to get yours as soon as possible.

Cannibal Corpse have announced their own brand of coffee for headbanging caffeine fans. Pre-orders for Beheading and Brewing were announced via the band’s Instagram with the following details: “A year went into this project, cupping beans from around the world, tuning down to a diabolical roast level, & custom artwork from the legendary artist Vince Locke himself.”  Said to have notes of black licorice, vanilla, & cedar that will LIQUIFY YOUR BRAIN!
