TORONTO, ONTARIO - SEPTEMBER 06: Rainn Wilson attends the "Blackbird" premiere during the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall on September 06, 2019 in Toronto, Canada. (Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images)

Today, the one and only Rainn Wilson celebrates his 56th trip around the sun. He’s been on the acting scene for years and actually studied at NYU’s graduate acting program.

I really enjoyed him in the show ‘Backstrom’ which aired in 2015 but only lasted one season. He played a detective lieutenant who liked to drink and smoke a bit in excess and took on special cases with specific circumstances. I don’t know why it only lasted one season, but I would guess that the high number of detective, murder, crime shows didn’t help.

The truth is we all know Rainn Wilson as the beet farmer, paper salesman Dwight Kurt Schrute in ‘The Office’. AKA, assistant to the reginal manager. Dwight has to be one of my favorite characters on the show. I honestly think that without him, ‘The Office’ wouldn’t have been nearly as successful. That being said, I did not watch ‘The Office’ when it was first airing, and I honestly wasn’t originally a fan. I binge watched the entire series on Netflix in about 3 months back in 2017. I immediately fell in love with the entire cast and now watch it on Peacock whenever I get the chance.

In honor of Rainn’s birthday, I wanted to share some of my favorite Dwight moments from ‘The Office’!

Buttlicker

The interactions throughout the entire series with Dwight and Jim are always hilarious. Jim portraying client Bill Buttlicker is definitely laugh out loud funny.

Dwight Kills Sprinkles

Angela asks Dwight to look after her cat Sprinkles, and Dwight decides the cat’s quality of life is at its end. The best part of this episode is when Dwight brings her a new cat named Garbage.

Fire Drill

Dwight decides the office isn’t taking fire safety seriously enough and sets the place on fire.

Recyclops

In an effort to educate the office about the environment, Dwight creates Recyclops, a fictional character who wants to save the earth. Each year Recyclops becomes more and more destructive towards the planet.

Dwight Fights Himself

Dwight wants to prove his fighting abilities and when Jim suggest the only worthy opponent for Dwight is Dwight, things get… ridiculous.

Those are just a few of my favorite clips. Below is a montage of some of his best moments of the entire series. Enjoy!
