So, what is everyone saying about this year’s National Championship matchup?
The number one ranked Michigan Wolverines haven’t won the National Championship since 1997. The Huskies haven’t won it since 1991. It’s safe to say both teams will be ready to battle. As of right now, the oddsmakers have Michigan coming out on top. If you watched Washington in the Sugar Bowl though, you know they are a tough team.
It seems the sign-stealing controversy from earlier this year has been long forgotten about. (Except for diehard Michigan haters.) Will that play a factor when Michigan enters the National Championship? It doesn’t look that way.
After Michigan’s big win at the Rose Bowl, the team cited overcoming adversity all year as a big contributing factor to their success. Michigan superstars J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum both took time after the Rose Bowl to embrace the moment before looking forward to the National Championship. It feels like they are more ready than ever for the big game! GO BLUE!
The 5 Greatest Stadiums In College Football
There’s nothing like college football. From tailgating to the nail biting finish, it’s always a great time. What makes it so great? It has to be the atmosphere of an NCAA game. You’re on campus surrounded by the most loyal fans imaginable. No matter what college you’re at, or previously attended, it’s always special. However, some are more special than others. We ranked the 5 greatest stadiums in college football.
Doing this wasn’t easy. Do you know how many amazing stadiums there are in the country? Truly countless! So, you best believe these 5 all have something very unique about them.
Best Stadiums For College Football
First off, I want to be clear that the results are completely bias free. Okay, maybe almost completely bias free. I can’t promise that some of my personal opinions didn’t shape the rankings. They probably did, to an extent. You should know, I graduated from Michigan State University. I am a proud Spartan. However, Spartan Stadium didn’t make this list. See? I didn’t let my biases influence the results.
That’s not to say Spartan Stadium isn’t worthy of being on the list. I had some crazy times in the student section there. Spartans show up to support their team. They have hilarious chants and MSU has one of the most beautiful campuses in the entire country. Spartan Stadium is beautiful and sits on the Red Cedar River. It’s incredibly scenic. Yet, it wasn’t enough to make this list of the greatest stadiums in college football.
In fact, some other iconic stadiums didn’t make the cut, either. The iconic blue turf at Boise State’s Albertsons Stadium won’t be found on the list. Beaver Stadium has history and legacy, but also isn’t on this list. So, if your school's stadium didn’t make the list please don’t take it personally. Unless you’re an Ohio State fan. There’s no way the Shoe was going to make the list. Excuse me, *the* Shoe. Let’s get to the list!
Jade was born and raised in Detroit Rock City and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, The Who, Tom Petty, etc. In high school she tried multiple different styles from cheerleader to goth but couldn’t do gymnastics and couldn’t get her eyeliner dark enough. She settled on jeans and a t-shirt, playing sports and making normal situations overly awkward. When she’s not making bad jokes on the radio you can find her shanking golf balls into the woods on the golf course and drinking beers at the bar. She has a strict two shot limit when it comes to tequila. Jade enjoys writing and talking about everything happening in Detroit Rock City, our Detroit sports teams, golf, and her fear of robots.
