Michigan vs. Washington Predictions: Will the Wolverines Win?
What a game. Actually, what a day of games. Both the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl were close games that left me hanging until the bitter end. I did fall asleep during the Sugar Bowl game, but that’s because it was just so darn late, not because it wasn’t exciting. Anyway, now, the Michigan Wolverines are in the National Championship game. So, what are the Michigan vs. Washington predictions, and will the Wolverines win?
The 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship will have No. 1 Michigan going up against No. 2 Washington at NRG Stadium in Houston at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday (Jan. 8). The game will air on ESPN and the ESPN App. If the Wolverines win, it will mark their first national title since 1997. For the Huskies, it would mark their first since 1991. Both teams are in it to win it. Michigan got to the National Championship thanks to a hair-raising 27-20 overtime win over No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl semifinal. Washington got to this national title game following a 37-31 win over No. 3 Texas in the Sugar Bowl.
Michigan vs. Washington Predictions:
Good news, Michigan friends. The oddsmakers are favoring you bigtime. According to Sports Illustrated, “Michigan comes out as the winner in 74.3 percent of its simulations, or 14,860 of its projections.” Moreover, “that leaves the Huskies as the projected winner in the remaining 25.7 percent of sims, or 5,140 of the index’s predictions.” They add that, “Michigan enters the CFP national title game as 4 point favorites against Washington, according to the lines at SI Sportsbook.” ESPN reiterates that Michigan has a 74.3% chance to win National Championship, with Washington at a 25.7% chance. So, I would wait to buy those Rose Bowl shirts until after next Monday. I’m a Spartan a bleed green, but I’m rooting for my Wolverine friends here. Just this once, wink, wink. Best of luck to you.
