Keegan-Michael Key Is Every Detroit Lions Fan
We are Keegan-Michael Key, and he is every Detroit Lions fan out there. The Lions have been on a historic run this season so far, and fans nationwide are coming out of the woodworks. We are traveling in droves to road games and making it known we are finally proud of this team.
We’re all aware of the high profile fans the Lions have like Eminem, Big Sean and 1/2 of ‘Key & Peele,’ Keegan-Michael Key. Key has attended a few games this season and is most definitely a proud Detroit Lions fan. He’s a Southfield native, and even though he is a celebrity, he’s no different than the rest of us.
Key was recently a guest on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and was asked to do an impression of himself if the Lions win the Super Bowl. It’s safe to say, every single one of us would react the exact same way! Check out his impression below:
Yeah, that’s exactly how I will be reacting as well.
What’s Keegan-Michael Key up to these days?
Funny you should ask because he has definitely been keeping busy since his days doing sketch comedy with BFF Jordan Peele. (If you’ve never watched ‘Key & Peele’ I highly suggest you check it out. It’s currently streaming on Netflix.)
Back to current projects though, Key was cast as the Chief of Police in the upcoming ‘Wonka’ movie. Timothée Chalamet stars as Willy Wonka himself, and the one and only Hugh Grant shows us the origin of the Oompa-Loompa. ‘Wonka’ hits theaters this weekend and I’m definitely planning to go see it!
If you were wondering if Wonka and Key’s famous substitute character happen to cross paths, I’m happy to say they did. During a press junket for ‘Wonka’ Key was asked how the substitute teacher would pronounce Willy Wonka and his response does not disappoint. Check out that video HERE.
Six Of The Worst Movies Of 2023 - Meltdown
For whatever reason, ever since the lockdown I’ve gone to the movie theaters a lot more. Most likely because my kids are grown up and no longer have after school activities and whatnot. I probably see about twenty to twenty five movies a year in the theaters. Just a pro tip, Emagine theaters have a deal on Tuesdays for $5 movies and a free small popcorn if you sign up for their program. It’s worth it! I hit up the one in Canton on Tuesdays to see all sorts of movies, mostly horror ones. For me, it’s all about the atmosphere. I love kicking back and turning on the heated seats to watch the latest movies. I’d be lying if I said I saved my popcorn and snacks for the movie to start. Guilty as charged.
Interestingly enough, out of the top ten films of the year at the box office, I only saw one of them. I did not sit through Barbie, Avatar, The Little Mermaid or any of the others. I did see Oppenhieimer though. I’m not sure that will make my favorites of the year, but it was good.
By the way, these movies are from the theatrical releases, and streaming services.
There were some solid movies in 2023. Like I said, I watch mostly scary movies so a lot of the ones I liked were from that genre. I did see some historic movies, those seem to be the very long ones. I’ll speak to that on another post coming up soon.
That being said, I see a lot of crappy movies also. I’ll do a post before the end of the year for my favorite movies, but here are some that aren’t so great, with one I wouldn’t recommend to leave on as background noise for your pets. It was suppose to be scary. The only scary thing about it was how much time I wasted watching it.
Here’s to hoping 2024 brings us some great movies to lose ourselves in for a few hours. Now to the worst of the year from me, Meltdown.
Jade was born and raised in Detroit Rock City and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, The Who, Tom Petty, etc. In high school she tried multiple different styles from cheerleader to goth but couldn’t do gymnastics and couldn’t get her eyeliner dark enough. She settled on jeans and a t-shirt, playing sports and making normal situations overly awkward. When she’s not making bad jokes on the radio you can find her shanking golf balls into the woods on the golf course and drinking beers at the bar. She has a strict two shot limit when it comes to tequila. Jade enjoys writing and talking about everything happening in Detroit Rock City, our Detroit sports teams, golf, and her fear of robots.
