Things I Overheard at the Lions VS Packers Game

When you’re a Lions fan, football season is a weekly reminder of the differences between good football and bad football. I am a lifelong Lions fan and always will be. I will always start the season bright eyed, bushy tailed and full of hope. It diminishes quickly as the weeks come and go, but just like all you other Lions fans, when the opportunity comes to attend a game, especially against the Packers, you go. My good friend is a season ticket holder and invited me to the big match up with division rivals this weekend.

We had a blast for a multitude of reasons. The weather in Detroit was fantastic! The city was buzzing, and the stadium was packed. We were dressed in our Lions gear and ready to cheer them on! We even got a picture with Roary! In honor of the big win against the Packers, here are a few things I overheard while watching the game:

  • "He sucks!"

    This was in reference to Aaron Rodgers after his FIRST interception.

  • "We're inside and suck!"

    This was in reference to the having a losing record against the Packers despite the fact that we get to play in an indoor arena and the Packers play at Lambeau Field.

  • "So they're not trying, either."

    This comment came after Aiden Hutchinson picked off Rodgers in the end zone for the second interception of the game. Might I add, that Rodgers saying that was a “freebie” was quite a douche comment.

  • "Congratulations, points!"

    This comment was made after the Lions scored their first touchdown near the end of the 2nd quarter and the first points of the entire game.

  • "That's so Detroit of us."

    This was in reference to knocking the ball loose and then promptly sending it out of bounds.

  • "We just beat Green Bay, that's how I know Green Bay is trash."

    Listen, we are not a good team and haven’t been in a long time, but trash talking is fun and it’s even more fun when you pull off a win against a division rival!

Heading down to Ford Field for a Lions game is always fun. It’s more fun when you win and you’re in good company!
