Red Wings Fans Break Out In Jared Goff Chant
Red Wings fans made their voices heard last night at Little Caesars Arena when they broke out in a Jared Goff chant!
We all know the Lions have been the talk of the town this past season. While it’s been a while since the Detroit Red Wings have made a playoff run, at one point they were our only success story in Detroit sports. Football is different though. The season is significantly shorter than all other professional sports. We only have eight or nine opportunities a year to see them in action on the home turf. The Lions have left much to be desired for the past few decades, but not this year. Not since Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes came to town.
Jared Goff has become a hero of sorts in Detroit. He had a rough start to his career in the Motor City, but has proven to be exactly what the organization needed. Fans made their appreciation known during the first playoff game when Ford Field broke out in a Jared Goff chant.
He heard it and has expressed his appreciation for the fans in multiple press conferences. The Lions fandom has swept the nation, but everyone here in Detroit is fired up! Even if you’re not a football fan, you can’t help but cheer on the Honolulu Blue. Last night, Detroit Red Wings fans shared their excitement for the Lions by breaking out in a Jared Goff chant.
The Detroit Lions are now America’s team!
Polls across the country have shown that the Lions are the fan favorite during the current playoff run. Cue up Drake’s ‘Started From The Bottom.’ In Facebook groups, threads on X (formally known as Twitter) and on Instagram football fans from nearly every other team have shown their support. We’ve got a big game ahead of us in San Francisco this weekend. As of right now, the Lions are the underdog, but that hasn’t stopped us this year. We’ve been the underdog our whole lives, and right now, that’s only fueling our fire! Go Lions!
10 Things You May Not Know About Jared Goff
Jared Goff is something of a hometown hero in Detroit, even though he’s not from here. At this point, Goff is a true Michigander. He posesses grit and determination. He’s also helped bring the Detroit Lions more victories than they’ve had in decades. And, it’s only getting better. That said, Goff isn’t the kind of guy who lets his personal life hang out there. So, yeah, he’s a bit mysterious. That said, let’s get into some things you may not know about Jared Goff.
First of all, I love how even-keeled Goff is when it comes to his quarterback position. He understands that you’re going to have some bad games and plays, and he doesn’t let that rattle him. How strong. Goff also seems very stable and balanced. So, he’s better equipped to handle things under press, and that’s really helped the Lions this season.
Now, with the NFC Championship game looming, Goff understands how much a win would mean to the city of Detroit. He also understood what it would mean to win the NFC North division, which the Lions did earlier in the season. “I understand how special it’ll be for the city,” Goff said at the time during a press conference. “Absolutely, we understand that and how long the fans have waited and all that, we certainly understand that, but I think we have to focus on what we can control and that’s this week right now.” He added that, “I think I’ve said this before, but we don’t carry the weight of the last 30 years here, we don’t. It’s the 2023 Lions and we’re different than last year’s team and the year before and 30 years before that.”

Jade was born and raised in Detroit Rock City and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, The Who, Tom Petty, etc. In high school she tried multiple different styles from cheerleader to goth but couldn’t do gymnastics and couldn’t get her eyeliner dark enough. She settled on jeans and a t-shirt, playing sports and making normal situations overly awkward. When she’s not making bad jokes on the radio you can find her shanking golf balls into the woods on the golf course and drinking beers at the bar. She has a strict two shot limit when it comes to tequila. Jade enjoys writing and talking about everything happening in Detroit Rock City, our Detroit sports teams, golf, and her fear of robots.
