I'm from South Lyon, so this caught my interest! The owners of Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill are going to take over operations at Erwin Orchards.
"We've financially committed and are working out the details," Blake's co-owner Peter Blake told Hometown Life. "We've got a big vision for the property but will maintain the integrity of Erwin's and put the Blake spin on it."
According to Hometown Life, it's part of a major deal known as Orchard Crossing, "a 181-acre development at Silver Lake and Kent Lake roads, which will include 161 homes on 77 acres, leaving 104 acres for preservation of orchards and the cider mill, as well as new enterprises."
Blake's is plotting a 20,000-square-foot tasting room for the new site, which will feature a full-service restaurant, bar service and cidery/beer brewing. The spot will be stationed on the northeast corner of Silver Lake and Kent Lake roads. For more information, go here.
