Growing up as a kid, of course I loved The Flintstones. In fact, I started bowling because of Fred and his outrageous bowling style. But, on the flip side, what impressed me the most was The Jetsons, because it was an eye to the future of what technology could be.

Pressing a button and your food would be cooked on The Jetsons become a reality in the late ’70s with the first microwave. Of course, we’re all waiting for flying cars, and we’re getting close, but as for shopping, I love the idea what Kroger is attempting with electronic electric shopping carts. This will indeed be a look into the future of shopping. I don’t know about you, but I try to get my shopping done as quickly and as painlessly as possible. The only suggestion I give to the scientific community that is inventing these electronic shopping carts is to please invent the wheel so my cart doesn’t squeak and pull to the left.

GM and Kroger launching 'innovative' electric grocery cart

General Motors is going from electric cars to electric carts. The automaker is launching a battery-powered cart designed for grocery delivery services. The device is being marketed under GM's new BrightDrop brand, which sells its new all-electric commercial vans and associated technology. The BrightDrop Trace Grocery features nine temperature-controlled drawers and is weatherproofed for four-season use.
