There are many events in rock history that are engraved into your mind. For me, it was a December day when we got the news that John Lennon was assassinated. It was news that really shook the world, as everyone was in disbelief that this event had actually happened. It’s one of those moments when you can say to yourself, where were you when this happened?

Remember, back in 1980, there were no cell phones or social media. People relied on radio and television. For myself, I was watching a Monday night football game with my father when I got the news from Howard Cosell, the football announcer, that John Lennon had been shot. I hope his killer is never ever able to see the light of day.
