Jared Weeks of Saving Abel “I’m Really Proud Of What We Are, Who We Are, And Where We’ve Come From”
Great to talk with Jared Weeks from Saving Abel again.
He spoke to the band being based in the Nashville area. Man, there’s a lot of that these days!
We talked about his crazy travel schedule as of late. The band’s been playing all over the country. Plus, he made a trip to Mexico for family reasons.
He said the band has been working hard, checking off boxes of things the band wants to do. The latest single is called “Fire” is a song he wrote about looking at himself. He added more to that and told me how writing is therapeutic for him. He also said coming back into the band helped him to rediscover his passion for writing that he had in his 20s. “I write about the things that I know.”
“Getting back into the Saving Abel machine, we had to redo, rebuild the whole foundation.” He said they let go of things, and everyone has chipped in. “I’m Really Proud Of What We Are, Who We Are, And Where We’ve Come From”
How much has he changed, and how much has the business changed since he left the band and came back? He answers both of those questions.
Oh, and the band also has a connection to the country/rock artist, HARDY.
He talks about balancing family with the riggers of playing in a rock band. He said his youngest appears in their latest video. How cool is that?
That’s for starters. Jared is great to talk to!
You can see them live on Sunday, August 20th, here.
Check out some pictures from the last time they played metro Detroit.

Saving Abel Plays District 142 in Wyandotte
Saving Abel came through town and played the new District 142 last night. Always great to catch up with the boys.
They ripped through their set with familiar songs like “18 Days, ” Miss America” and “Addicted, while sprinkling new songs like “Baptize Me” and “Kill The Radio”, among others. This was the first time I’ve had a chance to see the band with singer Jared Weeks back in the fold. The guys gelled perfectly on stage and didn’t miss a beat.
Along with Jared, Jason and Scott, I also got to meet new drummer, Dave Matthews. I brought him up during my interview with HARDY last week. Dave and HARDY both grew up in the same small Mississippi town of Philadelphia, and went to the same school. They played in the school band together. Small world! You can listen to that conversation here.
I even ran into Eva from Eva Under Fire. Keep an eye for those guys. They’re playing District 142 coming up with Finger Eleven.
All in all, a great night in Wyandotte catching up with friends and meeting listeners at District 142.
