You can join Darren McCarty for a celebrity ghost hunt at Eloise Asylum this Saturday, May 11th! I’ll be joining the fun as well, and I cannot wait.
Darren’s excited for the chance to lead groups through the famed local asylum. “It’s all about having different interests and putting myself out there to enjoy all sorts of different things Detroit and Michigan have to offer.” He told me the staff at Eloise is fantastic. “To be able to team up with the great folks on the grounds of Eloise Asylum, for not only the historical aspect but the paranormal experience, too.”
The History Of Eloise Asylum
Eloise Asylum is rich in history, from 1839 until its closing in 1982. The featured picture in this post is of the Kay Beard Building. At one point, it housed 400 patients. At its peak, Eloise housed over 10,000 patients throughout 72 buildings on its 902 acres, with around 2,000 staff members. Only five buildings and the cemetery remain. As their website says, the asylum’s history is filled with tales of compassion, tragedy, and mystery, making it a fascinating place to explore.
Eloise Asylum Offers All Sorts Of Tours
Yes, they have paranormal tours there, but they have much more. Escape rooms, their haunted attraction, historic tours, and more.
Darren is looking forward to seeing everybody. “Ghosts included!” he said. I’ll be posting some pictures from our adventure next week.
