Yes, it's halfway to Halloween. While some people are looking forward to summer activities, as am I, I'm also looking forward to the changing fall colors and horror movies!

I cannot wait for the latest installment of the Terrifier series. This time, Art The Clown is decked out in Santa garb so it's going to revolve around Christmas. This is going to be good!

This weekend, the Emigine Theater in Novi is celebrating with showings of Halloween from 1978 as well as the one from 2018, with the Michael Myers actors Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney. Nick is the original Michael, and James is the character in the 2018 film. They're showing double headers of the movie, along with a Q&A at 5 pm. 6 pm, and 7 pm. The 6 and 7 pm shows are sold out. Tickets for these double-feature Q&A events are priced at $30 and can be purchased at www.emagine-entertainment.com.

Fun fact: Zach Myers from Shinedown is a huge Halloween movie franchise fan, although he's told me he's not a horror fan. In the last Halloween movie, he made a tiny cameo.

Zach Myers

Zach is the best. We have so many mutual friends, it's crazy! Of course, we have to talk "Halloween" movies.

It's Halfway To Halloween And Here Are TheMovies I've Seen This Year

So far this year I've seen several horror movies, with the latest being Bloodline Killer. I've watched Abigail, Night Swim, Thorns, Late Night With The Devil,  Imaginary, Ghostbusters (not really horror), and The First Omen. That one might be my favorite so far. I'm looking forward to Trap, MaXXXine from the X series which I really like, Beatlejuice Beatlejuice, and some others. Yes, I'm a sucker for a solid horror flick.

Hit me up with some of your favorite horror movies that you've seen either in the theater or at home streaming. In the meantime, check out my friend's crazy walk-through haunted maze he made in his yard last year. It's Nuts!

Plymouth Home Becomes Insane Haunted House/Yard For Halloween

My friend, Otto, has invited me over to his haunted house for years. I finally got the chance to swing by on Saturday afternoon during the off-hours. All I can say is WOW! This place is totally nuts! I think it took me about a solid thirty minutes to walk through the whole thing, as he showed me different gimmicks and animatronics.

I asked him how many pieces he thought he had in total. His response was that he had no clue. I can believe it. It's just room after room of zombies, clowns, horror film characters, and lots more.

It's open to the public and it's free, but he does have a donation box for anyone who wants to drop a few bucks in to cover his time, repairs, and electric bills. He does this every year just for the love of it.

Here's the info....

Take the family out there and see it for yourself....if you dare! (evil laugh)

Here are some pictures from my daytime visit.

Like I said, it's CRAZY! Go and check it out this weekend or on Halloween night. Happy Haunting!

    o17.jpgMeltdown

This house in Plymouth goes overboard on Halloween....and Christmas too.

    o18.jpgMeltdown

Here's where you enter....if you dare.

    o1.jpgMeltdown

This is part of the display area. Dave Hunter would not approve of this part of the yard.

    o2.jpgMeltdown

More from the clowns area. This is at the beginning of your scary journey.

    o3.jpgMeltdown

You always get the feeling like something's watching you!

    o4.jpgMeltdown

This is the UFO section....and again, someone is always watching from above!

    o5.jpgMeltdown

There's an outdoor pirate section, complete with music and a bar

    o6.jpgMeltdown

This is as you walk into the horror movie section. I didn't take a picture of the VCR display, but that brought me back a few years. Great memories.

    o7.jpgMeltdown

Did I mention there's a werewolf section? Yes, there's that too!

    o8.jpgMeltdown

You need some music as you walk through the pirate section, right?!?

    o9.jpgMeltdown

More outdoor shots. I can't even venture to guess how many skeletons are on display throughout.

    o10.jpgMeltdown

More skeletons. This wasn't even halfway through my journey.

    o11.jpgMeltdown

You can even get married or renew your vows there...as these kids did!

    o12.jpgMeltdown

This is a pretty wild section, complete with cages holding back some demon children on the right side. I'd suggest seeing it in person.

    o15.jpgMeltdown

Don't worry, there's medics on premises should you need them.

    o16.jpgMeltdown

It just keeps going, room after room. Lots of black lights to enhance the experience.

    o19.jpgMeltdown

Yes, there's a bar on location serving up the best in "spirits"!

    o20.jpgMeltdown

If you like big displays, this is a place for you! Lots of larger than life characters to see.

    o21.jpgMeltdown

All I'm going to say about this display is that it got me. Go see it for yourself. ;)

    o22.jpgMeltdown

What haunted house/yard would be complete without a Hearse? Yes, there's one of those too!

    o23.jpgMeltdown

Who doesn't want a picture in an electric chair?! You can do that too at this crazy place!

    o14.jpgMeltdown

This is what the outside looks like from the daytime. Otto told me it all lights up at night.
