The Black Crowes rocked the Fillmore in downtown Detroit for a big 4/20, April 20th party.

In support of their latest album, Happiness Bastards, The  Crowes brought the tour through Detroit after kicking it out at the famed Grand Ole Opry on April 2nd. It's their first album in 15 years since brothers Rich and Chris Robinson reunited. This current tour goes through May 7th when they wrap up with a show in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, before they head overseas for some European dates.

The latest album dropped in mid-March, their 10th studio album. According to their website, Chris Robinson says they are excited to play songs off the new album, fan favorites, and juicy classics. That seems to be the equation, as they ripped through songs like "Remedy", "Hard To Handle ", "She Talks To Angels", new tracks like "Wanting and Waiting" and more.

A couple of mini-reviews from a couple of rock fans who were there. Tattoo legend, and rock concert junkie, Bob Tyrrell said "The Black Vrowes were amazing! A perfect set of new songs and older gems. They're back with a great new record and are better than ever!" My coworker, 94.7's Megan Murphy said this about the show "The set was mixed with new and classic rock tracks all played with the same energy and style we expect from the Robinson brothers." She told me whether on the big stage at Pine Knob or the smaller stage at the Fillmore, the Black Crowes never disappoint. Her highlight was a cover of the Velvet Underground's "White Light/White Heat".

If you missed them, don't fret. They'll be back in Detroit with Aerosmith to kick off their first shows in 2025 with a concert at Little Caesars Arena on January 4th.
