The ugly sweater trend is back in fashion for the past few years. “National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day” is the second or third Friday in December. Big box stores are already stocked up with their versions and some have started selling, “Do it yourself kits.”

Ugly sweaters have gained popularity and the NFL and NCAA started their own ugly brand. I’m looking forward to parties that I will be in attendance with my band soon. It’s a great time of year to feel the ugly.

Like any fad, the ugly sweater business has started to become a bit saturated with more and more people and companies seizing the opportunity to make a quick buck. But the demand is still there, and there’s no ugly sweater recession in sight. Look for more home-ugly parties and local pubs and bars with ugly nights. (Sweaters, not people.)
