When Mariah Carey sings,” All I Want for Christmas,” what I’m saying is all I want is for Christmas to rock. Here are some Christmas songs that don’t get the airplay they should. It’s time to “Deck the Halls” with some rock.

• #1 Twisted Sister - Oh Come All Ye Faithful

  Twisted Sister’s full length video to their Christmas hit “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” from their Christmas album “A Twisted Christmas.”

• #2 Alice Cooper - Santa Claus is coming to town

  A nod to Detroit Native Alice Cooper and a rocking version of this Christmas classic, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” Available on “We Wish You a Metal Xmas and a Headbanging New Year.”

• #3 Motorhead - Run Run Rudolph

  Lemmy’s vocals and signature growl are more threatening than Berry’s rendition, giving the track a sinister edge that every rock and roller can appreciate. To add flavor, we have the late Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Dave Grohl on drums.

• #4 All I Want for Christmas is Metallica

  Mash-ups are all the rage this year. This one takes the cake for Christmas songs. Who would of thought of making the world’s favorite Christmas song with Mariah Carey better?! Everything goes better with Metallica.

• #5 Blue Christmas - Collective Soul

  Collective Soul’s “Blue Christmas” was for years only available to fan club members. It’s one of my favorite versions of this song, sorry Elvis.

• #6 Bobnoxious - Fa La La La La La

  Bobnoxious is a band from London, Canada. I use to crank this song every year on WRIF’s Midnight Metal. Such a great upbeat Christmas favorite.

• #7 Howling Diablos Feat. Jim McCarty & Thornetta Davis- Another Christmas Story

  Ten Below Zero is a Detroit Classic! The early ’90s recording by the Howling Diablos with Jim McCarty on lead guitar and Thornetta Davis on guest Vocals. Written by Tino Gross-Funky D Records.

• #8 Korn - Kidnap the Sandy Claws

  Nothing says Christmas more then a planned kidnapping. Hand it to Jonathan Davis. He should do voice acting. His range is never ending. They could do a whole animated movie with his talents.

• #9 Bob Rivers - Holidaze

  Bob Rivers is a retired radio on-air personality in the Pacific Northwest, as well as a prolific producer and songwriter of parody songs, most famous for his Christmas song parodies. His album “Twisted Christmas” was certified gold. So many funny songs. This is one of my favorites.

• #10 N.O.E.L. Psychostick B.Y.O.B Christmas Parody

  Psychostick is an American comedy metal band in Chicago, Illinois. It’s the band that did the song,” Beer is Good and Stuff.” To date, they have released five albums nationally.
