May’Tallica Day 12 – A Listeners Pick From ….And Justice.
In today’s MAY’Tallica pick, Joe Schwarz shares his love for Harvester of Sorrow from Metallica.
As the youngest founding member of The Struggle Within Michigan fan club, Joe gives us all hope for the youth of today.
Rock is NOT dead and Metallica has an incredible knack for broadening its fanbase over multiple generations.
Joe argues that Harvester of Sorrow is the HEAVIEST Metallica song of all time. “It’s my favorite because each instrument can be heard rocking out throughout the song. The guitar riff ROCKS and I love the way James sings kind of soft and then super HARD. The whole thing showcases each instrument and they all flow together to make a kickass song. EPIC.”
Funny story about this song from my days on the radio is that years ago, someone called in and requested “Officer” of Sorrow. That screwup has lived on through the years. Too funny!
Great pick, Joe!
