No Joke: Robert Plant Walks in a Bar’s Open Mic Night – Screamin’ Scott
The legendary singer Robert Plant was a performance with his new band, Saving Grace, north of London when afterward just decided to walk down the street and pop into a local pub doing a band “Open Mic Night.” Open Mic is a term where musicians of all types hang out, jam together for fun, and network with other bands. So, just imagine the surprise at one of these local open mic nights to have Robert Plant walk in and sing, “Stairway to Heaven?”
The crowd was stunned with surprise on a Tuesday night! Back home in the United States in the Metro Detroit area, there are many Open Mic Nights. Three Blind Mice on Wednesdays in Mt Clemens, The Gratiot Pub Sunday jams are incredible in Clinton Twp, and Gabriel’s lounge in Roseville on Tuesdays all have great open jam nights throughout the week. Support local musicians and get out and enjoy a fun night with great music. Who knows who will “pop” into the bar? I’ve heard many a story of Kid Rock just stopping in a club and playing. You might even find me enjoying a pop or two and jamming.
