NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 13: In this photo provided by Nintendo of America, Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime debuts the groundbreaking Nintendo Switch at a press event in New York on Jan. 13, 2017. Launching in March 3, 2017, Nintendo Switch combines the power of a home console with the mobility of a handheld. It's a new era in gaming that delivers entirely new ways to play wherever and whenever people want. (Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for Nintendo of America)

Releasing just as many of us went into lockdown and Shelter in Place orders began, Animal Crossing has been a major part of alot of people’s lives the last month. One of the activities players can participate in each week involves purchasing turnips from a shopkeep that only shows up for a few hours every Sunday morning. Once you have turnips you can resell them to your local shop in your game but the trick is that the price fluctuates everyday leading to players referring to the practice as “playing the stalk market”.

One of the ways the new version of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch improves this mini-game is by allowing players to visit each other’s islands over the internet which means if your friend’s shop is buying turnips for 10 times the price you bought them for you fly on over and make yourself a mint.

One player tweeted out that her turnip prices were particularly high today and ended up with a very famous visitor as she revealed in the tweet below.

It appears the Lord of the Rings and Over the Garden Wall actor was an ideal visitor too, following all the unwritten rules players have developed since the games release of posing for pictures, asking before picking fruit and donating bells, the in game currency, to the player who let him come and sell his turnips for a sweet sweet price as a tip.

He also gave a shout out to his favorite director while chatting with fans but the real question I have is, HOW DID HE GET HIS CHARACTER TO LOOK JUST LIKE HIM??
