What You Should Be Watching – Star Wars the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels
It’s been a couple weeks since Disney+ launched and I think we can all agree the Mandalorian, and more importantly Baby Yoda, have taken us all by storm. This week…

Gerardo Mora / StringerIt's been a couple weeks since Disney+ launched and I think we can all agree the Mandalorian, and more importantly Baby Yoda, have taken us all by storm. This week Mike Pandoff returns with a couple suggestions of earlier Star Wars series to check out while you wait for your next Baby Yoda fix. I can vouch for Star Wars Rebels too! I watched the first couple seasons and absolutely loved the characters, especially the Mandolorian graffiti artist, Sabine.
Hello Fellow Nerds,
Hope you all have been enjoying Disney+ with all the classics and original content! I'm sure you can guess what I dived right into...Star Wars duh! This week I’m going to give you a couple things to watch that might make that little show called The Mandalorian a even more enjoyable: Star Wars the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels!
Before you say, “Mike, those are kids shows!" Yes, they are, but also much more than that. Dave Fiolni the creator of both shows worked extensively with George Lucas while making both and has made the universe bigger and richer with his story telling. In Season 2 of Clone Wars Duchess Satine is introduced, whom Obi-Wan Kenobi almost left the Jedi order for. Satine has taken Mandalore and its people from being warriors into a more neutral peaceful civilization. This spans over the course of the next 5 seasons as you get more lore and what it means to be a Mandalorian and you even hear of the only Mandalorian that was a Jedi and his sacred Dark Saber. If you are interested here is a correct order to watch the episodes and February 2nd, 2020 on Disney+ it will be revived for a 7th season and show how Mandalore is saved by the Galactic Republic with the 501st and Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice Ahsoka Tano.
Now if that doesn’t win you over, maybe something a little closer to the original trilogy will. Star Wars Rebels takes place about 14 years after the rise of the Galactic Empire. The show is based on the crew of the ship called The Ghost, as they’re trying to bring relief to the planet Loathal. The crew also goes onto being one of the most important corner pieces of The Rebellion. One of them is a Mandalorian called Sabine Wren, a feisty 16-year-old with a talent to make art graffiti and with explosives. By Season 3 of Rebels we get to go back and see why she left Mandalore with it now being controlled by The Empire. These episodes are great to watch in between the week long wait for a new episode of The Mandalorian. Below is the list of episodes to watch but I highly recommend watching it from beginning to end, especially for Ezra Bridger and his former Jedi-Padawan-turned-mentor Kannan Jarrus.
Season 3- "Trials of the Darksaber"- "Legacy of Mandalore"
Season 4- "Heroes of Mandalore" This a two part episode with a very awesome Mandalorian fight.
Well that’s it for me this week, may the force be with you!
