Albums Recommendations:
The first album that I want you to go out an listen to (if you haven’t already yet), is Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande. I know that it came out earlier this year, but seeing as how Wicked is in theaters, I think it’s a good a time as ever to bring that album back to your attention. Really it’s just fantastic and something that you need to hear. Ariana Grande obviously sounds amazing, and the instrumentation and arrangements are all working in tandem to make her shine. It’s also just an album that’s catchy as hell. It’s one of my favorite pop albums from this year and one of my favorite over all, go give it a listen here.
The next album that I want you to go listen to is Eldest Daughter of an Eldest Daughter by Kiki Rockwell. As far as I can tell, this is her debut album, and let me tell you, this thing is something else. The music she creates is simultaneously catchy and off-putting, a fantastic blend of dark pop music and fantasy tinged folk instrumentation. Lyrically also, this album is stunning, pulling from mythology and folk lore to tell compelling narratives of female empowerment and experiences. This is a very exciting album, you’ve got to check this one out.
Finally, for the third album, I regret to report that there is none! And that’s not to say that there isn’t any good new music out, but rather that I have fallen behind a bit. Don’t worry though, I’ve got a very long list of albums to listen too and I’ll have some more great stuff for you next week. Maybe you can take this as an opportunity to go and explore for yourself, forge ahead in the world to define your own identity and tastes. (Basically, you can do some of the work for me this week.)
And it seems to me that that is it for this week. Come back around here again next week and I’ll have some more cool new music for you. We’ll help you find your new favorite song eventually, I swear. I’ll see you then.
