Ice Nine Kills Raises $100K for Wildfire Relief with Exclusive Ghostface Firefighter Shirts
A metal band called Ice Nine Kills raised $100,000 for the California Fire Foundation by selling unique t-shirts. They launched the fundraiser while wildfires were raging through Los Angeles, killing 24 people and destroying 60 square miles of land.
The shirts cost $45 each and show the Scream movie villain Ghostface dressed up as a firefighter holding an axe. The band sent all the money from shirt sales directly to the Foundation’s Wildlife & Disaster Relief Fund.
“We are proud to stand alongside other musicians, creatives, and workers in our industry to support the ongoing relief efforts in any way we can,” said Spencer Charnas to Razor Wisconsin.
The fires destroyed 12,000 buildings in total. People can still buy the shirts now, which will arrive by late February 2025.
Other big music names helped out, too. Metallica donated $500,000 through its foundation, and the Recording Academy started helping music industry people affected by the fires through its Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort.
MusiCares, Beyoncé’s BeyGood Foundation, Warner Music, and Live Nation also pitched in. They’re helping with both emergency needs and long-term recovery.
The California Fire Foundation helps out whenever wildfires hit. Their Wildlife & Disaster Relief Fund helps firefighters, victims, and communities dealing with the fires.
