5 More AC/DC Dive Bars To Open
AC/DC opened up their first Dive Bar back in October at the Power Trip Festival. Well, now they’re doing it again, but on a bigger scale with 5 more. My friend Kurt was lucky enough to go to that festival and sent me some really cool pictures, which you can see here. This is a really cool idea and a way to rebrand the band for a younger generation, and of course, the one that grew up with the legendary band.
The High Voltage Dive Bars will open in five European cities: London, Paris, Gelsenkirchen, Seville, and Munich, the band revealed on Wednesday. Looks for each location to show off vintage AC/DC props, and sell some of the band’s exclusive merchandise, according to the press release.
As of now, they haven’t released any info on the dates they’ll be open, but suffix it to say they’ll be ready for the band’s “Power Up” European tour. That runs from May through August.
In other news from the band, the Young Brothers, Angus, and the late Malcolm, are being honored in their Australian hometown of Burwood, Sydney. They put up a huge mural in honor of the 150th anniversary of the town. It’s a two-story painting done by the artist, Claire Foxton. It can be found on Burleigh Street, near the siblings’ childhood home.
What a cool way to honor some of the most famous rockers to come from down-under. Someday I’ll get to that part of the world. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just have to toss one of their albums on the turntable and crank it up!
Speaking of dive bars, check out some of the best ones in our area below. We have plenty to be proud of, and frankly I love a good dive bar.
