Former Detroit Red Wing Darren McCarty Gets Hole-In-One (NSFW Video)
Hockey legend, Darren McCarty grabbed his third hole-in-one, his first in seven years, on Monday. He told me his last one was on June 26, 2016.
“It looked like it went in….” he told me. He was cautious at first, because his partners had a couple decent shots as well. “I’ll wait and see, they hit good shots, too. When I got out of the cart, I didn’t see it.” In the video below, you get to see in real time the moment he discovered he sank it.
It was on Hole #7 at Oakland University Sharf Course. A par 3, 113 shot during the Eddie Murray Hope Network Golf Outing on Monday. He said he used a PXG SugarDaddy 2.
He won a set of Callaway clubs for his perfect shot. What’s he going to do with the new sticks? He told me he’s going to find a veteran that uses golf in recovery to donate at the Grind Time Family Golf Outing This August.

The Red Wings Won the Stanley Cup 20 Years Ago Today
It may be hard to believe, but 20 years ago today (June 13), the Red Wings won their third Stanley Cup in six years. It also marked their 10th Stanley Cup, and they won it in front of their home crowd at Joe Louis Arena. It’s not a hyperbole to say that the 2001-2002 version of the Red Wings is one of the greatest teams in NHL history.
The Wings didn’t make it to the playoffs this year, but at least we can live on those sweet memories of years’ past.
