Tim Allen Coming Home For Show At Detroit’s Fox Theatre
Comedian Tim Allen has announced he’s coming back home to Detroit for a show at the Fox Theatre! The homecoming is one-night only so it’s best to act fast. The comedy event will be happening on Saturday, February 3rd.
Tickets for the one-night only show go on sale Monday, November 13th at 10am (Eastern) at 313Presents.com and Ticketmaster.
The Detroit native, and Seaholm High School graduate, can currently be seen on The Santa Clauses on Disney+. It’s a spin-off of the popular Santa Clause movie trilogy that’s made for television. The first couple episodes from Season 2 just arrived on the streaming platform today.
The funny man also has stand-up gigs lined up in early 2024 in Sacramento (CA), Fort Wayne (IN), and Gary (IN). According to TimAllenTour.com, Tim is ready to give his perspective on all that the world has given him to joke about over the last couple of years. Now, he’ll be bringing those jokes home to Detroit in February.
The Toolman Is Coming Home
Allen got his start in comedy right here in Metro-Detroit. He was dared by one of his friends to participate in a comedy night at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle in Royal Oak. Clearly, it went well and he continued to grow from there. It’s funny, Cort, who works weekends here on The Riff, was telling me that he got his start in comedy the exact same way. His friends dared him to participate in open mic night at Mark Ridley’s and then they invited everyone they knew to come out and watch him bomb on stage. Surprisingly, Cort says it actually went pretty well. To this day he says it was the best stand-up set he’s ever performed because he knew his friends would be in the crowd ready to roast him.
Tim Allen climbed his way through the ranks while working the Detroit scene and eventually started appearing in local TV commercials and cable shows like Some Semblance of Sanity, according to Wikipedia. Before long, Tim was moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy. He was a regular at The Comedy Store in LA and started performing stand-up on the late-night talk shows. He became a household name in 1991 when Home Improvement aired on ABC.
Don’t miss Tim when he comes to town in February! Always one of the greats and can’t wait to hear his take on all that’s been happening the last few years.
