Former Great White Singer Mitch Malloy Talks About His Upcoming Album And More
Mitch Malloy is a recent guest on my Talkin’ Rock podcast.
We talk about his upbringing. He left home early in his life to pursue the dream of making music.
His new album drops in July, as he explains the details of the album and how you can get it. He talks about the ‘Golden Ticket’ promotion as well, and what that entails. The album is called The Last Song. “Yeah, I probably started it during that time…yeah, why not?” when asked if this was his ‘pandemic’ record. He talks about some of the songs on the album, writing them and more.
He also went the opposite way of some musicians. He left Nashville instead of moving there. He tells me about that move. We talked about his work in the studio as well, and why he stopped producing projects. He’s worked with some pretty big names in the music industry.
What about meeting his heroes….some weren’t cracked up to be all that he’d hoped. Some were. He mentions a 80s band that he loved from the first time he saw them.
That’s just for starters, today with Mitch Malloy….

Rudy Sarzo And Quiet Riot Rock Smuggler's Run In Wyandotte, Michigan
Quiet Riot brought the “Noize” Friday night to Smuggler’s Run in Wyandotte. I was looking forward to the show for many reasons. First off, I’ve interviewed Rudy Sarzo many times, but never met him. So I checked that off the list. He was as pleasant as you’d expect him to be. Very nice!
Secondly, I’ve never had the chance to see or meet, singer Jizzy Pearl. He popped onto the scene back in the day with his band Love/Hate. He did an amazing job of bringing these songs to life, and they even played the Love/Hate classic “Blackout in the Red Room”. What A Jam!!
Thirdly, I’ve had interaction with guitarist Alex Grossi over the years, but had never met him either. He was really nice, and a killer player!
And, of course, I had to hang with my brother, drummer Johnny Kelly. I met Johnny about five or six years ago. He married a woman from Ann Arbor, who reached out to me to interview him. I’m a big Type O Negative fan, so of course, I jumped at the chance. We just clicked and became friends. Great guy, awesome player! Check out our recent interview below.
Killer show overall, with a band called SIIN and the 80s band, Brinty Fox opening up. As always, thank you to everyone who stopped me to say Hello. I love talking rock with other music fans.
