  • Ivan Moody Will Retire from Heavy Metal

During last Friday’s Five Finger Death Punch show, singer Ivan Moody announced that he would be making one more Five Finger Death Punch album and then he will be retiring from heavy metal.

”The last 15 years of my life I have toured the world, seen every country, every city on this planet at least twice. And through that time I have missed a lot of time with my kiddos. So I made them a deal today, and I’m going to stick to it,“ Moody explained from the stage. One day later the band had to cut short their show in West Valley City, Utah when a drunk driver hit a pole down the road from the venue and down a transformer knocking out the power. “One more reason to not drink and drive… you screwed up 20,000 people’s day,” Zoltan Bathory tweeted later on that night.

  • Judas Priest’s Anniversary Tour and Hall of Fame Induction

Judas Priest began the latest leg of their anniversary tour last weekend and fans noticed some deep cuts in the set list, including Genocide, which they haven’t played live since 1982!

In other Priest news, it has been confirmed that not only will guitarist K.K. Downing will join the band on stage for their Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction on November 5th but classic line-up drummer Les Binks will be in tow as well.  “It’ll go by in a flash, won’t it? I think we’ve probably got eight or nine minutes. I’m not even going to be able to break a sweat,” Downing said in a recent interview, adding that representing the attitude and legacy of Judas Priest will be the main thing for him that night.

  • New Music to Look Forward to in 2023

    • Babymetal’s new record The Other One is due out March 23rd and they’ll be releasing 5 singles from it between now and then.
    • Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor said in a recent interview that the band wants to go back into the studio soon to work on songs that didn’t make the cut for their double-album Hushed and Grim.
    • GOJIRA’s new single, Our Time is Now, debuted last week as part of the soundtrack for the latest NHL ‘23 video game.
    • We can expect the next Prong single in January, according to front man Tommy Victor, with the full record penciled in for April.
