Chris Jericho and his band Fozzy took care of business Saturday night at District 142. You can watch the interview I did with him last week, here. A packed crowd witnessed the band rip through songs from their twenty-plus years of history.

They took the stage at 9:30 PM by opening with their latest single, "Spotlight". This song translated really well on the stage. This could become the band's biggest song. As of now, that title is reserved for the song "Judas", which they played near the end, right before the final song of the night, a cover of "Blitzkrieg Bop".

Songs like "I Still Burn", "Do You Want To Start A War" and " Nowhere To Run" were scattered throughout the hour-and-a-half set. But the highlight for me was the song "Enemy". During that song, guitarists Rich "The Duke" Ward and Billy Grey trade off riffs. The back-and-forth was killer. Rich later told me that the whole impromptu jamming started organically enough, and has transformed into what they do on the stage now. A must-see for anyone at the show.

Overall, it was a really fun night with the band. I had just driven in for New York earlier in the afternoon, so I was a little burned out, but not enough to not have a few drinks with bassest, PJ Farley, and Chris before calling it a night. I mean, we had to celebrate my friend Jason Hartless' birthday! My friend Chris L., from the Pod Of Thunder podcast tagged along as well. Always fun seeing him!

I didn't get there in time to see the opening band, but I caught the second band Seventh Day Slumber. They've been around a while, but I've never seen them. To be honest, I thought they were excellent! Their show was tight, and I loved the use of the screen behind the stage flashing their lyrics. I thought it was really smart of them to do that. Plus, on their very last song, they came to a false ending at the end. The lights and screen went completely out, and when they came back on for the final notes, the band's socials and hashtags were on the screen. I thought that was genius use of the screen too. Well done!

Fozzy lead singer, Chris Jericho was on-point all night long.

This was the first time I'd seen a screen like that on the stage at District 142. It really enhanced the entire show. Could a permanent one be coming??

Fozzy ripped through songs encompassing their 20 plus years of being a band.

I guess you can't really squirt the crowd with water, so Jericho resorted to this.

Rich "The Duke" Ward is an original member of Fozzy, along with Chris Jericho. He played in a band called Stuck Mojo as well, among others. Great player/dude.
