A few weeks ago, Rosario Dawson delighted Star Wars fans when she appeared as Ahsoka Tano ( a character who originated in the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series) on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She only appeared on one episode, and now we know why.

Today, Lucasfilm and Disney+ announced that Dawson will star in an Ahsoka series on the streaming channel.

And it wasn’t the only announcement from the galaxy far, far away. Among the other announcements: Hayden Christensen, whose portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in 2002’s Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Revenge Of The Sith will play a young Darth Vader in the previously announced Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor, who will reprise his role of the Jedi Knight.

There is a Lando Calrissian project in the early stages of development; while they mentioned that Justin Simien is developing the series but they notably didn’t mention whether Donald Glover, who played the role in 2018’s Solo, would be involved.

Andor will see Diego Luna reprise his role as Cassian Andor from 2016’s Rogue One.

The Star Wars twitter account retweeted Patty Jenkins — director of the Wonder Woman films — who hinted — well, more than hinted — that she has a Star Wars project in the works as well, without giving any details, not even a name for the project.

Star Wars also noted that Taika Waititi, who directed Thor: Ragnarok, as well as The Mandalorian‘s season one finale, is also working on a Star Wars project.

And the announcements didn’t end there:

Suffice to say, fans who are old enough to remember the three year wait between installments, will not likely experience that again. While all of these shows will have their own storylines, it looks like we won’t have to wait too long between Star Wars stories anytime soon.
