Surviving Thanksgiving

Deleted Scene From John Hughes’ ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ – Screamin’ Scott

Fans of director John Hughes' movies note one of the favorites around the holiday season is the '80s classic comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The movie is getting a facelift release a brand-new Digital 4K and 4K Ultra HD edition, in celebration of the movie’s 35th anniversary with extensive bonus content. I share my love for this classic as well as WRIF's Meltdown. We often throw out quotes from the movie all year round. Back home, this movie has become a Thanksgiving tradition to watch after dinner. Even though the movie was a mild box office success – it grossed $45 million on a $15 million film budget. If you have never seen the movie, let's give you a cliff note version. A Chicago advertising man played by Steve Marti, is must struggle to travel home from New York for Thanksgiving, with a lovable oaf of a shower curtain ring salesman played by the late John Candy, as his only companion. Lots of great cameo appearances for Hollywood's best help make this movie even better. Yes, the movie even has Kevin Bacon. https://youtu.be/ZfnvrPZSFb8 https://twitter.com/Collider/status/1592200417680953344?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1592200417680953344%7Ctwgr%5E13ac1578e6b899a44ae932cfdef3ca04ccaaa164%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcollider.com%2Fplanes-trains-automobiles-deleted-scene-john-hughes%2F
