Meltdown’s Thursday Top 3: Top 3 Scenes from The Thanksgiving Classic “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”
It’s Thanksgiving and a tradition I’ve had for years is watching “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”. It might be one of my all-time favorite movies. Such a classic, and maybe the only Thanksgiving movie I can think of.
Here’s my top 3 scenes from the movie…
#3 – “YOU”RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!” Who could forget that one?!
Neal : [makes a nod making like he understands and sits back straight in his seat, to Del] He says we’re going the wrong way.
Del : Oh, he’s drunk! How would he know where we’re going?
Neal : [agreeable] Yeah, how would he know?
[turns to the couple, mockingly waves and says]
Neal : Thank you! Thanks a lot! Terrific! honk, honk…
#2 – Neal Paige at the car rental place at the airport. I don’t need to go into detail here. If you’ve watched it, you know what I’m talking about. “I want a F*$(ing Car…right F+@^ing now”
#1 – “THOSE AREN’T PILLOWS!” LOL Such a classic scene. I remember interviewing James Hetfield from Metallica and he quoted that line. Too funny! By the way, there’s a new commercial out using the song “Back In Baby’s Arms”, which appears in that scene.
