Aaron Rodgers is Talking About Exorcising Demons
First of all, I have to say that I have a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers. I think what he and Tom Brady have done as quarterbacks, and how long they’ve successfully stayed in the game, is inspiring.
That said, Rodgers says some funny stuff. Like, what’s it like to be in his head?
Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers ended a five-game losing streak on Sunday (Nov. 13) with a win against the Dallas Cowboys. There’s been some, let’s say, drama inside the Packers camp, which is partly to blame for the losing streak.
Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has had a rough season for such a prized rookie, so he’s been a hot topic inside the Packers realm. He performed well on Sunday, and Rodgers was asked about it.
“We had a lot of plays designed for him, so I don’t think there was any other option,” Rodgers said, via Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal (via ProFootballTalk.nbcsports.com). “I think that [first touchdown] probably on the atomic level shifted a lot of different things for him, exorcising some energetic demons. I’m proud of him. He made some plays.”
Um, “exercising demons” isn’t exactly how I’d put it. But, then again, I’m not Rodgers.
Sunday’s win was an impressive one for the Packers. I was rooting for them. I tend to root for the NFC North, unless the team is playing the Lions. Now, the Packers are 4-6 for the season, which looks a lot better than what would have been 3-7. Time will tell if it sticks.
