Best Highlight from Monday Night Football, The Non-Streak Smash! – Screamin’ Scott
“The Streak” was a popular #1 novelty song in 1974 for Ray Stevens, capitalized on the popular craze of streaking. Fast forward to 2022, and the craze has resurfaced, this time on Monday Night Football during the Rams vs. 49ers game.
Seconds remained on what was an average game. The next thing I noticed was pink smoke on the field that caught my attention. Here comes some kind of protest like save daylight saving time or a four-day work week, but no. It looked like the man had some clothes with a pink smoke bomb. I thought to myself, this can’t end well but watched the chaos unfold. He sprinted with good form with yellow-vested security guards in full chase. Then the mostly non-naked man turned up field down the Rams sideline in front of the Ram’s entire bench. Then, while the yellow-vested security struggled to keep pace, the Rams defensive end and all-pro linebacker laid in a nice tackle. It seems the protester t-shirt read “RightoRescue.com.” I did some research to find out it’s a cause to raise awareness for whistleblowers facing prison time for exposing factory farm abuses. What happened to the good old days of just a over-served drunk guy just going on a dare to his drunk buddies that he can make a touchdown? The Monday Night Football score went on as a blow out as Matthew Stafford got sacked seven times in the Rams 24-9 loss to the 49ers.
