The Game 2023: A Battle of Unbeatens
The legendary football rivalry between Ohio State University and the University of Michigan continues Saturday November 25th in Ann Arbor. “The Game” as it’s been hailed is one of the most heated and long-lasting rivalries that started over a dispute of land. For more information on the history of the rivalry scroll to the bottom of the page.
The Game is one matchup that after all these years, still dominates all other rivalries. Michigan and OSU have been squaring off on the gridiron for well over 100 years. Michigan does hold the advantage having won 60 of the matchups, to Ohio State’s 51.
“The Game” has featured some of the most amazing football stars ever. From Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson to Aidan Hutchinson and Jabrill Peppers. Ohio State had Joey and Nick Bosa, Justin Fields, Ezekiel Elliott and so many more. This years’ edition of the game is not short of talent either, Featuring Marvin Harrison Jr, Blake Corum, JJ McCarthy, Emeka Egbuka, and Mike Sainristil to name a few.
The Game 2023
This year, the game has a very unique side story. With Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh being suspended for the rest of the regular season, Michigan has to face OSU with their interim coach Sherrone Moore. Some have questioned if Michigan truly is the better team, considering the whole cheating allegations. Assuming the allegations are true, how much can we owe the last 2 Michigan wins against OSU to the cheating?
Who Will Win “The Game” This Year?
With the game having a tainted history in the last 2 meetings, it clouds the picture. I still think the Wolverines are a good enough football team to beat Ohio State this year. However only time will tell if the reason Michigan was so good was cheating or good football. One thing is for sure, the game tomorrow is must watch TV. I predict a closer game than the previous 2 years with Michigan pulling out a win by no more than 1 score. Final score prediction 35-28 Michigan.
JJ McCarthy has to air it out again, and Sherrone Moore has to trust in the pass protection. If that happens and the Defense plays up to their abilities, Michigan can beat Ohio State for the 3rd year in a row.
