Cherished Michigan Restaurant Set to Permanently Close
A beloved Michigan restaurant is closing its doors, and while it’s sad news, the good news it that this spot will still be open for a few more days, so you have time to say farewell the proper way. It’s always a downer when a locally-owned business closes, but especially when it’s a delicious food place. So, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I wish the owners all the best.
Michigan Restaurant Will Permanently Close
Sparty’s Kabob is a delicious authentic Iraqi Michigan restaurant that’s been open since July 2020. Now, owners have taken to Sparty’s Kabob’s Facebook page to announce that the restaurant will permanently close at the end of the month. The restaurant is located in East Lansing, and I personally know a lot of people who loved this spot. Middle Eastern food is simply delicious, and they made some great dishes. In the statement, the restaurant announced that they won’t renew their lease and will close for good on Sept. 30.
“Reflecting on the past four years, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received from each of you,” Sparty’s Kabob said on social media. “As a family-run business, our journey has been both rewarding and challenging, but the connections we’ve built with our community have made it all worthwhile. Sharing our traditional Iraqi food with you has been an honor and we hope to have given you a taste of our home from the comfort of yours.”
The Michigan restaurant added, “We want to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the community of the Greater Lansing Area and the community of MSU as you have all been a vital part of our story and we will cherish the lessons from this journey.”
Owners and workers at the restaurant would love to see the community to visit and eat there one finale time before it shuts down operations on Monday, September 30. “We look forward to making these last weeks memorable and hope to see many familiar faces before we say our goodbyes,” the restaurant stated. “We will also be doing a buy-one-get-one 50% off as a way of giving back to our community one last time.”
Until they close, the restaurant is open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. I would love to see this place pop back up at some point. Contact me with your thoughts on which local spots you would like to see reopen.
