Brett Dennen Kicks Off ‘Golden State Of Mind’ Tour In Ann Arbor
Brett Dennen is kicking off his “Golden State Of Mind Tour” in Ann Arbor tonight! It’s the first of many stops across the country during the tour.
The “Make You Crazy” singer has long been one of my favorites, in fact, I refer to us as friends. Does he feel the same way? Maybe? Regardless, he always delivers an impressive show filled with good vibes, dancing, and catchy melodies.
Brett Dennen Kicks Off ‘Golden State Of Mind’ Tour In Ann Arbor
Brett Dennen will be starting his Golden State Of Mind Tour tonight at 8pm at The Ark in Ann Arbor. It’s a beautiful venue on the University of Michigan campus. It’s big enough where you can bring your friends, but also small enough where it feels like an intimate show. Ultimately, it’s the perfect venue for a Brett Dennen show.
Recently, BD dropped a couple of new singles “Dharma Baby,” “Another Day In Babylon,” and “Careful What You Wish For.” I’d expect to hear all of these new songs during the current tour. These songs will all be heard on his upcoming “If It Takes Forever” album. Brett recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the track list for the forthcoming album. It looks like it will be a 16-track album, which has me very excited. The more the merrier!
Following the show in Ann Arbor, Brett Dennen will be off to explore other cities in the Midwest including stops in Madison, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Then, the tour will also be making stops in Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and California. If you’re looking for a fun, romantic date night then I would highly recommend checking out a Brett Dennen show.
Brett Dennen Bringing Tour To Ann Arbor
As I mentioned earlier, I consider myself close to Brett. I’ve been a fan since high school–not to make us feel old. I remember the first time I saw him perform was at Rothbury Music Festival in 2009. It was a great environment and his music stuck with me for the rest of the festival. Then, I discovered his YouTube videos and was surprised to see that not only was he an incredibly talented singer/songwriter but he’s a funny dude! Like, really funny. You can check out his collection of videos on his YouTube channel here.
I started going to many more shows and couldn’t get enough. Once Twitter became a thing I would use it to chat with him and he was always very kind and receptive. He even reached out to me once to say that I was going to be featured in his music video for “Comeback Kid (That’s My Dog).” That was, like, a dream come true. It happens at the 2:39 mark in the video.
Since then, I’ve been to countless more shows and most of the time he notices and gives me a wave. It makes me look really cool in front of my girlfriend in friends (which we all know I could really use). The tour kicks off tonight in Ann Arbor! You can get your tickets here.
