Michigan Restaurant Reopens After Being Closed a Decade Plus
It’s always sad when a beloved local restaurant or bar closes down, but then, it’s super happy news when that said restaurant or bar reopens. Such is the case with a Michigan restaurant that has reopened after being closed more than a decade. That’s such a long time to be away, but what’s nice is that regulars from this restaurant are still around and ready to support the reopened business.

I’m pleased to say that I remember going to this particular Michigan restaurant and really enjoying it. They always had karaoke and fun things to do. I was really surprised when it shut down, because it was such a popular spot. But, sometimes having regular business isn’t enough. Regardless, I’m glad to see it back in business and ready to rock once again.
The spot I’m talking about is The Irish Pub in Lansing. This spot was a popular one on the west side of town for decades. Not only is The Irish Pub reopening, but it’s also showing off a huge remodel. So, if you remember what it looked like before, just know that it will be much newer and, dare I say, fancier when you visit now. Jeremy Werner, one of the owners, told WILX.com that they did a soft opening last weekend and are now open to the public. He said it was a really heartfelt experience. “I told somebody that I went through all the emotions,” he told WILX.com. “I could’ve laughed; I could’ve cried; I could’ve puked.” He said that he “had all the emotions,” which totally makes sense.
Lansing’s mayor, Andy Schor, is even excited about the news. He says that he hopes the business is successful for many years to come. “This is a community staple that has been shut down for a decade,” Schor said (via Fox47news.com). “And here we are, back open. This is exciting; this is everything we’re talking about with the vibrancy of Lansing, and this is going to grow Lansing.”
The Irish Pub is located at the corner of West Saginaw Street and Verlinden Avenue. If you head there, expect an expanded menu. I remember their burgers being very popular, but they have lots of different menu options, as well as, of course, a lot of beer. It’s great to see this spot open after being closed for so long. Using vacation time to plan a big party for friends is a good use of that time. Instead of traveling around the world, bring to world to you. Invite lots of your good friends, and spend some of the cash you would have on a vacation for your party. It’ll be the party of the year. Make that decade.
