The Detroit Lions have had a historically good season thus far in 2023. Tying the all-time franchise record for wins in a season. Finishing 12-5 on the year, Detroit now has the opportunity to do something great for once. Attract Free Agents next year.
The season Detroit has had is an inspiring sign for so many Detroiters. This franchise has never brought its fans a Super Bowl trophy. Fans are absolutely starved for a winning team. Because of the recent success Detroit can now start to really attract quality free agents.
Dan Campbell came into a trash heap of a team a few years ago and made his mission clear. He set out to evaluate what he had and clean it up. Now we sit at 12-5 and will be hosting the first playoff game in Ford Field’s history. Because of Dan Campbells shifting of the culture, bringing hard work and toughness, Detroit can now attract free agents.

Success Attracts Free Agents
It’s something the city of Detroit has struggled with for a long time. Especially in this sports climate where players have all the power. For the longest time nobody wanted to willingly play and live in Detroit over Miami, Los Angeles, New York etc. Free agents finally will want to be a part of this. The biggest reason? Dan Campbell.
I’m not saying Detroit will be signing Chris Jones next season. But what I am saying is that Superstar free agents will now start considering Detroit as an option. For so long this city hasn’t even been in consideration for the best place to play. We have Campbell to thank for future free agents wanting to come over and be part of something special.

That’s the true mark that a franchise is doing something right. At long last, the Ford’s got it right. They hired the right General Manager and the Right Head Coach.
Now the right personnel is in place to win games. This team will only go up from here and hopefully they make a big splash with a big free agent signing. Regardless of what happens in the postseason, the impact of Campbell is already clear.
Detroit Lions Super Bowl Odds 2024
The Detroit Lions are NFC North champions and in the playoffs. Next stop: Las Vegas. Okay, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. But, there’s a real possibility the Lions could go all the way this year. Who wouldn’t want to lose to the Ravens on the big stage? Just joking, but let’s admit that the Baltimore Ravens are likely heading to the Super Bowl and seem very hard to beat right now. So, what are the Detroit Lions Super Bowl odds going into the postseason?
Some key things have to fall into place to make the Lions Super Bowl bound. Of course, the main thing is that we have to overcome our opponents in the playoffs. Throughout this season of my podcast, “The Squad with Anne Erickson,” we’ve talked about the best and worst matchups for the Lions. Several guests have commented on both the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers being potentially very difficult teams for the Lions to beat, based on each teams’ strengths and weaknesses. I would throw the Seattle Seahawks into that mix, too, since the Lions haven’t been able to overcome them in the Dan Campbell era.
Now, I do think the Lions could beat the Eagles. This isn’t the same team it was at the beginning of the season. All due respect to my Eagles friends, but there are holes in the team right now, and I believe that in the right situation, the Lions could beat them. Also, they have Matt Patricia heading up their defense, which is great for any team going up against them. Spoken like a true Lions fan, right? That said, I believe a Detroit Lions Super Bowl run would depend on the 49ers getting taken out in an early upset game. I think it would be difficult for the Lions to overcome the 49ers but not impossible. Now, let’s get into the real numbers.
