The Michigan Wolverines started the new year right. Defeating Alabama 27-20 in overtime, Michigan earned the right to play for the national championship. One of the big reasons for the win is the Michigan defense showing out in a big way. The Michigan defense while not perfect, played their hearts out and proved why they are the number 1 team in the country.
Alabama couldn’t get the ball moving in the passing game. Only throwing for 116 yards and without a score through the air. Alabama saw some success running the ball. However, aside from one 34-yard rushing touchdown from Alabama running back Jase McClellan, the Crimson Tide didn’t have many big plays on the ground either. With 228 yards of total offense for Alabama, the Michigan defense showed out.

Michigan Defense Won The Game
One huge part of their success was how effective their blitz packages were. The Michigan defense made throwing the ball for Quarterback Jalen Milroe a living hell. Michigan finished the game with 7 sacks against the Alabama offensive line. 5 of those sacks occurred in the first half, which was the most sacks ever given up in a single half in the playoffs.

This team is playing at an elite level right now and look virtually unbeatable. The defense played amazing, and their offense made big plays when they needed it. JJ McCarthy passed for 3 touchdowns and 221 yards. Blake Corum contributed 83 rushing yards and 2 total touchdowns. With an overtime rushing score, Corum set the all-time Michigan record for rushing touchdowns with 55 in his career.

This team is better than ever and ready to win their first national championship since 1997. The Michigan defense is a huge reason why they are in the title game. The season comes to and end next Monday. Michigan faces off with the Washington Huskies at 7:30 pm on January 8th for all of the marbles.
The 5 Greatest Stadiums In College Football
There’s nothing like college football. From tailgating to the nail biting finish, it’s always a great time. What makes it so great? It has to be the atmosphere of an NCAA game. You’re on campus surrounded by the most loyal fans imaginable. No matter what college you’re at, or previously attended, it’s always special. However, some are more special than others. We ranked the 5 greatest stadiums in college football.
Doing this wasn’t easy. Do you know how many amazing stadiums there are in the country? Truly countless! So, you best believe these 5 all have something very unique about them.
Best Stadiums For College Football
First off, I want to be clear that the results are completely bias free. Okay, maybe almost completely bias free. I can’t promise that some of my personal opinions didn’t shape the rankings. They probably did, to an extent. You should know, I graduated from Michigan State University. I am a proud Spartan. However, Spartan Stadium didn’t make this list. See? I didn’t let my biases influence the results.
That’s not to say Spartan Stadium isn’t worthy of being on the list. I had some crazy times in the student section there. Spartans show up to support their team. They have hilarious chants and MSU has one of the most beautiful campuses in the entire country. Spartan Stadium is beautiful and sits on the Red Cedar River. It’s incredibly scenic. Yet, it wasn’t enough to make this list of the greatest stadiums in college football.
In fact, some other iconic stadiums didn’t make the cut, either. The iconic blue turf at Boise State’s Albertsons Stadium won’t be found on the list. Beaver Stadium has history and legacy, but also isn’t on this list. So, if your school's stadium didn’t make the list please don’t take it personally. Unless you’re an Ohio State fan. There’s no way the Shoe was going to make the list. Excuse me, *the* Shoe. Let’s get to the list!
