Rising Star Sam Laporta Shines In Lions Win
The Detroit Lions moved to 9-3 on the season after another victory over the weekend. Detroit defeated the New Orleans Saints by a score of 33-28. One of the biggest takeaways of the game is that Lions Tight End Sam Laporta, is a rising star in this league. While Jared Goff had 2 Passing touchdowns on 213 passing yards. The bulk of his targets were to Sam Laporta.
Lions Take Care of Business
Goff completed 16 of his 26 throws, 9 of which were caught by Laporta. The rookie Tight End proved yet again why he is a rising star in this league and an important part of this football team. Sam Laporta finished the day with 9 Receptions and 140 yards receiving to go with a touchdown in Detroit’s 33-28 win over New Orleans.
The Lions got out to a quick 21-0 start in the first quarter. Benefitting from early turnovers made by New Orleans, Detroit went up 3 scores quickly. David Montgomery started it off with a 2-yard Rushing Touchdown. Sam Laporta put Detroit up 14-0 with a 13-yard touchdown, followed by an Amon-Ra 25-yard score.

Lions Tight End Sam Laporta is quickly ascending up the position ladder. Laporta is a rising star in this league, and he means business. Having his best game of his career thus far, Laporta is perhaps already a top 10 Tight End. Laporta is currently top five in the NFL in Receptions, Yards and Touchdowns. One thing is for sure, he is a star in this league.
The Lions continue their road trip in Chicago and face off with the Bears next Sunday. Detroit will be looking to improve their record to 10-3 on the season. The last time the Lions and Bears met, Detroit needed a miracle to win. Detroit was down 12 points to Chicago late in the 4th quarter, and the Lions grinded it out.
