NASHVILLE, TN - APRIL 22: Singer and guitarist Lzzy Hale of Halestorm performs at the Ryman Auditorium on April 22, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee.

In honor of International Women’s Day (March 8th) I’ve assembled a small list of amazing ladies who are fun to follow on social media. Below are links to their Twitter accounts. Give them all a click and a follow:

Fist up the amazing miss Lzzy Hale: https://twitter.com/LZZYHALE – She has grown into one of my favorite people in the music business. Her voice, sense of melody and infectious irreverence are mixed with a fantastic laugh and some “viscous” guitar riffs.

You should also check out Orianthi: https://twitter.com/orianthi – The Australian guitar shredder who has worked with Santana, Steve Vai and Alice Cooper mixes pop music into her lightning quick guitar playing.

While I’m on a roll of guitar players, this is Nita Strauss: https://twitter.com/hurricanenita – Nita is Alice Cooper’s current lead guitarist and she is one of the finest he’s ever had. Alice’s stable of guitar players throughout the years is staggering so that is a massive compliment.

On the classy side of guitar playing we find Nancy Wilson: https://twitter.com/NancyWilson – Heart are one of the most important rock bands to emerge from the 70s in large part because the Wilson sisters walked into a supposed “man’s world” and punched us all right in the nose.

One of my friends from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is keyboard player Mee Eun Kim: https://twitter.com/MeeEun – TSO likely have the best (and largest) contingent of female talent in the world of touring music and Mee Eun has been an essential part of it for 20 years.

Also from the TSO tree is electric violin player and amazing musician Anna Phoebe: https://twitter.com/AnnaPhoebe – Yes she can play but her greatest power (imo) is her ability to perform. Her music absolutely leaps from her soul.

Are you up on Mixi Demner?: https://twitter.com/Mixiofficial – Mixi’s band Stitched Up Heart is another one that captures your attention best in a live setting. She is tough as nails (and I mean old dirty, rusty nails) but has the deepest sweetest heart.

Finally saving the best for last, one of the most authentic musicians and people I’ve ever encountered Ashley McBryde: https://twitter.com/AshleyMcBryde – Setting our family ties aside (yes I realize I’m biased here) Ash has mastered the ability to speak her truth in a way that makes you believe it was actually your truth. Her ability to take a personal emotion and make it accessible to everyone in the room is second to none.
