  • Deftones’ Stephen Carpenter talks “Big Four” Bands

    When it comes to heavy metal, everybody respects thrash’s Big Four: Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer, but everyone has a favorite and Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones is no different.
    “Of the ‘Big Four’, I really did love Metallica. But Anthrax was my favorite,” Carpenter said in an interview for Ernie Ball’s String Theory webseries, “and I really, specifically loved Scott Ian as a rhythm player. I had zero desire to play a solo. I just wanted to crunch it up.”

  • Favorite Bands of Jesse Leach from KSE

    Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage named his 3 favorite metal bands while talking to Metal Injection and listed Katatonia, Rivers of Nihil and Metallica.

    “I mean, classic Metallica, going back to those first four records, five records,” Said Leach, “you can’t go wrong when you put on any one of those records.”

  • All Members of The Last Ten Seconds of Life (Except For One) Quit

    After releasing it’s sixth album just a few weeks ago, three-fourths of The Last Ten Seconds of Life has quit the band.

    Vocalist John Robert Centorrino, drummer Steven Sanchez and bassist Mike Menocker all announced their departure through various social media posts after wrapping up a tour with Cattle Mutilation, but co-founding guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin has yet to comment on the situation.

  • Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

    Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power turns 30 this year and the website Metal Injection has an awesome 45-minute YouTube video celebrating the anniversary with a couple of excellent covers and stories from members of Anthrax, White Zombie, Testament, Ministry, Machine Head, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Soulfly, Shadows Fall, Fit For An Autopsy, Zakk Wylde and Kyng, just to name a few.

  • Phil Anselmo Recalls His First Time Hearing the End of ‘Hollow’

    Phil Anselmo talked to Revolver magazine about the recording of the album, recalling the first time he heard the ending to the song Hollow, “I remember I’d been singing for a few days, I was frustrated, I was tired, and the ending wasn’t heavy enough,“ Anselmo recalled. “I went home, and y’all stayed in late. The next day, Terry Date is like, ‘Get to the studio. Sit down,’ and he played me the whole ending of ‘Hollow’, which was bad ass.”
