Viral Video Pokes Fun At Gift Guides For Men
A viral video is poking fun at gift guides for men. What do dudes really want for Christmas? These can’t be it.
Online retailers having sections for gift guides for men seems like it would be very helpful while searching for a gift for the guy in your life. However, they tend to look like starter kits for an alien pretending to be a guy on planet earth for the first time. Basically, it’s always incredibly basic. Now, a viral TikTok video is taking aim at these gift guides for men and calling them out. Check out the video shared by @carlyvandyke_ on TikTok below.
TikToker Calls Out Gift Guides For Men
Well played. Someone had to call out gift guides for men and I think she hit the nail on the head here. When I saw the theme of the video (bad gift guides for men) I instantly went to wallet, razor, and TV. I wasn’t at all surprised when she actually ended up mentioning some of those as well! It’s true, these gift guides are never very helpful and needed to be called out. Are you meaning to tell me people shopping and looking for these gift guides haven’t already thought about razors or a TV? They’re trying to think outside the box and this isn’t helpful!
Understandably, men are difficult to shop for. That’s why it’s a good idea to find them a gift that’s personal and has meaning to them individually. If you end up searching through gift guides for men, you’ll find nothing but the most basic gifts that they probably already have. They are rarely any help at all.
So, what do men want for Christmas? Like I said earlier, try to think of them as an individual person with interests and hobbies instead of thinking of them as just a man. If you do that, it will be hard to get a creative gift and you’ll end up having some gift guide recommend a wallet or a tie–and you can do better than that! Do they like sports? Buy them something with their favorite team on it. Like golf? Buy some customized balls. Into grilling? Find an affordable cookbook from one of their favorite grill masters. Are these the best ideas? No, they aren’t. However, it beats what you’ll find in most gift guides for men. Shopping is tough, good luck out there. Remember: it’s the thought that counts.
