Colorado Deputy Resigns Over Appearing In Adult Videos

A Colorado deputy has resigned after appearing adult videos. This isn't the first time we've heard of an officer getting in trouble for this!

Making adult videos can be a great side hustle. We're constantly hearing stories of people who have turned to OnlyFans to make an extra buck. Sometimes, it ends up even being more lucrative than their 9-5 and they're able to leave their day job to focus on making adult videos--and business is booming. However, making adult videos doesn't end in riches and fame for everyone. Not only can it make your life, it can also help bring it down. Unfortunately, this officer in Arapahoe County, Colorado is learning that the hard way.

According to Police Mag, Shannon Lofland, a 21-year veteran of the Arapahoe County sheriff's office resigned last week during an investigation into her performing in adult videos which she says was out of economic desperation. She tells Police Mag, "I was desperate, I was drowning. I found a legal, lucrative means for providing that support for my family that I needed at that time to save my home for them and feed my family."

Reports say the 44-year-old is a wife and mother and has been the sheriff's office driver training instructor for years which is a job she's loved having. Police Mag says an internal investigation was started after learning that she had appeared in adult videos online. It remains unknown how the department made this discovery but Lofland did admit that she had likely violated department policies aby not obtaining advanced authorization from the department for outside employment. She acknowledges that the request would have likely not have been granted.

However, her husband did support the decision and she didn't tell family or friends what she was doing to help pay the bills. This goes to show that not everyone can make adult videos or have an OnlyFans account. Yes, it works for celebrities looking for some extra cash or some unemployed people but if depending on your profession it might not be allowed. Clearly, officers are one example of that and another would probably be teachers and educators. We've heard stories before of people in those professions getting in trouble for making this type of content. It's a bummer if you're facing economic hardship but you have to find other ways to go about bringing in money if you're an officer. Or at least run it by your boss to see if it's allowed. You don't want to end up losing your job over it because that certainly won't help your money problems.

These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.
