Henry Cavill’s 2005 James Bond Audition Goes Viral Online
Can you imagine Henry Cavill as James Bond? He’s certainly handsome enough for it, and it sounds like it almost happened!
Daniel Craig was a terrific James Bond. Honestly, probably my favorite. He brought something different to the role that was refreshing and bad ass. However, it sounds like the role could have gone to Henry Cavill who definitely looks the part. Now, thanks to the audition tape that’s going viral online we can all see that he doesn’t just look the part–he would have been an excellent 007. In fact, it sounds like Casino Royale direct Martin Campbell may have even favored Cavill for the role but was out-voted by the top brass. In a way, it’s good because we got Daniel Craig as our James Bond, but now we’re all left wondering what could have been if Henry Cavill was in the role. Check out the viral audition that’s making waves online below.
Henry Cavill James Bond Audition Tape Goes Viral
Well, pretty cool, eh? He could have been excellent in the role playing James Bond. According to the caption on the YouTube video, this tape was from a VHS found in a recycling bin at a movie studio. How crazy is that? You’re telling me we were still using VHS tapes when Daniel Craig took over as James Bond? What?! I guess Casino Royale did come out in 2006, I would have guessed a few years later. Now I’m feeling old!
It’s currently been rumored that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be the next James Bond but a few other names have been floating out there as well. Who would you like to see play 007?
